Ceramic insulators typically consist of three parts: an iron cap, a ceramic component, and a steel foot. The iron cap is made of malleable cast iron, and the steel foot is made of low carbon steel. The iron parts are cemented to the ceramic part. The iron cap and steel foot of each insulator are insulated. Ceramic insulators are mainly divided into three types according to their direction of use: one type is used in transmission lines, one type is used in electrical equipment in power stations, and the other type is ceramic insulators used in other live bodies.
